2nd Police District
There were seven robberies, which yielded two arrests. Ivan Zaliwciw, 18, was arrested March 16 following a robbery at a private residence at 7200 Rutland St. Christopher Hatzigeorgiou, 50, was arrested March 15 following a robbery at a grocery store/mini market at 1400 Cottman Ave. Other robberies took place on the street, happening at 7100 Large St. (March 6) and 7600 Roosevelt Blvd. (March 16), both of which involved a handgun, as well as 2200 Knorr St. (March 10), 600 Adams Ave. (March 10) and 7300 Rising Sun Ave. (March 15).
There were four aggravated assaults, which resulted in two arrests. Brian Miller, 46, was arrested March 15 following an assault involving a knife that took place on the street at 6400 Oxford Ave. Rene Caal-Xol, 29, was arrested March 16 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 1500 Longshore Ave. Other assaults took place on the street at 1500 McKinley St. on March 10, which involved a handgun, and at a restaurant at 5600 Rising Sun Ave. on March 15.
There were two burglaries and one attempt. A private residence at 1300 Fanshawe St. was burglarized March 7 and 9, and there was a burglary attempt at a private residence at 6600 Large St. on March 15.
There were 62 thefts, which targeted 27 businesses, 25 vehicles (including three stolen vehicle tags), five street thefts, two private residences, an apartment house, a public school and a hospital. Thirteen arrests were made. In addition, 15 vehicles were reported stolen, 10 of which have been recovered. One arrest was made.
7th Police District
The only reported robbery took place at a private residence at 15000 Milford St. on March 16 and involved a knife.
The only reported aggravated assault was a domestic assault that took place at an apartment house at 2200 Hoffnagle St. on March 17.
There were five burglaries, most of which targeted apartment houses. These took place at apartment houses at 13500 Philmont Ave. (March 4), 8000 Algon Ave. (March 8), 1500 Gregg St. (March 14) and 12000 Bustleton Ave. (March 5). There was also a burglary at a drugstore at 700 Red Lion Road on March 7.
There were 23 thefts, which targeted 12 vehicles (including two stolen car phones and a vehicle tag), seven businesses, three street thefts and a doctor’s office. Four arrests were made. In addition, two vehicles were reported stolen, both of which have been recovered.
8th Police District
There were two robberies, which took place at a gas station at 9000 Frankford Ave. on March 9 and involved a handgun, and on the street at 3600 Welsh Road on March 14.
The only reported aggravated assault took place on the street at 9200 Roosevelt Blvd. on March 16 and did not involve a weapon.
There were two burglaries and one attempt. They took place at a private residence at 9100 Academy Road on March 12 and an apartment house at 9800 Frankford Ave. on March 12. There was also a burglary attempt at a private residence at 12800 Elnora Road on March 12.
There were 51 thefts, which targeted 27 businesses, 13 vehicles (including two stolen car phones), five private residences, two street thefts, an apartment house, a doctor’s office, a nursing/retirement home and an unlisted location. Two arrests were made. In addition, nine vehicles were stolen, eight of which have been recovered. Three arrests were made.
15th Police District
There were 16 robberies, which resulted in two arrests. William Maxwell, 33, was arrested March 14 following a robbery at a grocery store/mini market at 4200 Frankford Ave. Brian Williams, 26, was arrested March 10 following a robbery of a vehicle at 2000 Margaret St. on March 10. Other robberies took place on the street at the intersection of Robbins and Ditman streets (March 10) and 4000 Frankford Ave. (March 15), both of which involved handguns; 7300 Torresdale Ave. (March 9), which involved a weapon; and 4900 Cottman Ave. (March 7), the intersection of Bridge and Penn streets (March 8), 2500 Gillingham St. (March 10), 4000 E. Cheltenham Ave. (March 12), 5000 Frankford Ave. (March 13), 7100 Frankford Ave. (March 16), 4700 Bleigh Ave. (March 10) and 3400 St. Vincent St. (March 17), all of which did not involve weapons. The rest took place at private residences, happening at 5200 Oakland St. (March 7) which involved a handgun, 5300 Lesher St. (March 11) and 2900 Fanshawe St. (March 17).
There were 27 aggravated assaults, which resulted in five arrests. Assaults that took place on the street included domestic assaults that happened at 5900 Erdrick St. (March 13) and 5300 Akron St. (March 15); assaults involving handguns at 4700 Edmund St. (March 10), 4100 Gilham St. (March 15, Lawrence Wright, 34), 4800 Howell St. (March 15), 7100 Montague St. (March 15), twice at 1100 Adams Ave. (March 17); assaults involving knives at 4500 Torresdale Ave. (March 10) and 5200 Frankford Ave. (March 16, Charles Wilson, 35); assaults involved other weapons at 6000 Keystone St. (March 8, Lawrence Jefferson, 26), the intersection of Loring Street and Torresdale Avenue (March 13), 7400 Torresdale Ave. (March 14) and 2200 Kennedy St. (March 16); assaults involving no weapons at 6300 Ditman St. (March 9), 4800 Howell St. (March 15) and 1700 Margaret St. (March 16); and a domestic assault at 3100 Levick St. (March 7). Assaults at private residences included a domestic assault at 2600 Fillmore St. (March 16), an assault involving a weapon at 4700 Meridian St. (March 13) and an assault with no weapon at 4700 Longshore Ave. (March 16). Other assaults included a domestic assault at a mental institution at 1800 Harrison St. (March 16, Dajavan Speaks, 18), a domestic assault at an apartment house at 6600 Frankford Ave. (March 10, Lovette Stonbridge, 37), an assault involving a handgun at a retail location at 4800 Tacony St. (March 16), an assault at a private club at 6500 Roosevelt Blvd. (March 9), an assault on public property at 3300 Guilford St. (March 5) and an assault at a public school at 3000 Ryan Ave. (March 6).
There were 10 burglaries, most of which targeted private residences. Edward Gater, 62, was arrested March 9 following a burglary at 4000 Chippendale Ave. Other burglaries took place at private residences at 4500 Ditman St. (March 15), 7200 Revere St. (March 10), 4200 Levick St. (March 7), 2900 Disston St. (March 11) and 4500 Van Kirk St. (March 15). The rest took place at an apartment house at 1400 Unity St. (March 9), a factory at 4700 Van Kirk St. (March 4), a retail location at 6800 Torresdale Ave. (March 17) and a church/synagogue at 4600 Devereaux Ave. (March 11).
There were 62 thefts, which targeted 28 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), 18 street thefts (including a pickpocketing), 12 businesses and four private residences. Four arrests were made. In addition, 46 vehicles were reported stolen, 38 of which have been recovered. Five arrests were made. ••
