Fox Chase Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday, May 28, after it was discovered that a 9-year-old female student brought in shell casings and a blank round she collected from a Memorial Day event.
The school at 500 Rhawn St. was locked down around 1:20 p.m., and authorities recovered four spent rifle casings and a live blank round, according to police.
No one was injured, and the lockdown lasted about 30 minutes, a School District of Philadelphia spokesman said. ••
