Students have been named to Alvernia University’s dean’s list. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits. University of the Sciences held a conferment ceremony to recognize graduates who received a bachelor’s degree during the 2018-19 academic year. Local graduates were Christina Tipton, Patrick Carr, Jenna Januszka, Jenny James, Jithin Paul, Kevin Lee, Mooniba Abdul and Zixuan Yang.

Kutztown University will be welcoming local high school graduates to its class of 2023 and transfer students.

Jennica Nugent has been selected as a conference services assistant at Cedar Crest College. Conference services assistants report to the director of conference services and live on the Cedar Crest campus for the summer. They provide customer service to guests who may be on campus for a day or several weeks. Their responsibilities include ensuring the safety and security of all guests, facilitating guest check-ins and check-outs, assisting with move-outs and damage assessments, communicating and enforcing conference policies, working at campus events, and acting as a liaison between guests and conference services.

The Kutztown University women’s rugby teams, including Philadelphia Academy Charter School graduate Riley Walker, participated in the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championships at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester.

Joseph Love is one of 16 Albright College students from various academic disciplines conducting Albright Creative Research Experience projects over the summer. Majoring in theater, Love is working with associate professor Matthew Fotis in studying “The History & Practice of Sketch Comedy.” A presentation of this project will be held July 17.

Patricia Kalesse was named to the Siena College president’s list for the spring semester. The president’s list requires a 3.9 grade point average or higher. ••
