Oak Street Health will open a new location at Roosevelt Mall on Friday.
The public is invited to a series of open houses. The first open house is Wednesday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Oak Street Health has about 50 locations, mostly in the Midwest. The company has been in Philadelphia since last September.
The newest location is near the Bustleton Avenue entrance to Roosevelt Mall, next to the former Pizza and Pasta. Hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oak Street Health accepts adults on Medicare. Officials promise that patients will spend more time with doctors. Free rides are available to and from appointments. Often, patients can make next-day or same-day appointments, and walk-ins can be accommodated.
Specialists will talk to patients about Medicare benefits and insurance. A 24-hour patient support line is also available.
Oak Street Health also hosts regular activities in its community room.
At the July 31 open house, there will be clinic tours, a chance to talk to staff, light refreshments and a baseball cap giveaway.
There will also be open houses every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and every Friday from noon to 3 p.m. through August.
Jacqueline Pireaux, outreach director at Oak Street Health, said an official grand opening will likely occur in September.
