Paving coming to Southampton Road, Dunks Ferry Road and Alburger Avenue

The city Departments of Streets will continue its paving season on three major thoroughfares in the Northeast beginning Tuesday night, Sept. 3.

There will be temporary street closures and parking restrictions to accommodate street resurfacing on the following streets:

• Southampton Road from Roosevelt Boulevard to Worthington Road

• Dunks Ferry Road from Byberry Road to the city limit

• Alburger Avenue from Pine Road to Welsh Road

The resurfacing work for these streets is expected to be completed by mid-October. Work will be completed in three separate phases – street milling, the adjustment of manhole covers and resetting of utility boxes, and final paving.

Operations for the milling work (removal of old asphalt) will be performed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Work for adjusting manhole covers and resetting utility boxes will be scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Final paving will be performed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
