Thanksgiving parade on Sunday

The 43rd annual Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade will take place on Sunday, Nov. 24.

The parade route is Frankford Avenue, starting at noon at Rhawn Street and traveling south to Knorr Street.

The grand marshal will be music legend Michael LeCompt, and the parade will feature string bands, school marching bands, military vehicles, dancers, cheerleaders, entertainers and classic and antique cars.

Santa Claus will make an appearance, and his elves will collect letters from children.

Scouts will collect nonperishable food for the needs, and the U.S. Marine Corps will be accepting donations for Toys for Tots at Knorr Street.
