Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition. Local members of the list are Dayane Da Silva (class of 2019), Ana Kola (class of 2021), Mau Ramirez (class of 2020) and Barb Thiel (class of 2020).

Bloomsburg University congratulates the nearly 1,900 students who were named to the dean’s list. A full-time student whose semester GPA is 3.5 or higher in 12 or more semester hours will be named to the deans’ list.

The following local students made the list: Alyssa Augustine (class of 2020, business administration-management major); William Gaffney Jr. (class of 2021, accounting); Kenneth Garsey (class of 2019, supply chain management); Lisa Gogel (class of 2019, business administration-marketing), Timothy O’Neill (class of 2020, business administration-marketing); Sean Pedrick (class of 2020, supply chain management); Nicole Wilson (class of 2020, accounting); Shane Brophy (class of 2020, criminal justice); Jasmine Jubilee (class of 2020), psychology); Michaela Maw (class of 2021, sociology/criminal justice); Patricia Millan (class of 2019, economics); Angela Montano (class of 2019, English); Nathalia Pena (class of 2019, psychology); Adelina Sacouto (class of 2019, English/languages and cultures); Adiona Belulaj (class of 2019, exercise science); Christopher Gleason (class of 2020, exercise science); Robert Sherman (class of 2021, digital forensics); Amber Dorwart (class of 2020, special education/early childhood education); Katherine Ewing (class of 2019, American Sign Language/English interpreting); Louis Marano IV (class of 2021, special education/early childhood education); Kaitlyn Marren (class of 2019, early childhood education); Kelley McHugh (class of 2021, special education/early childhood education); and Morgan Petsis (class of 2020, early childhood education).

Kutztown University had 16 members of its women’s cross country team for the 2019 season, including Archbishop Ryan High School graduate Megan Kirn. Meanwhile, Kutztown had 11 members of its men’s cross country team, including Ryan Riley, a Ryan graduate.

Stage II, East Stroudsburg University’s student theater organization, recently presented Stay, a play by Lucy Thurber, as its production this year. Jenna Worrell is a member of Stage II.

The Cedar Crest College class of 2023 took part in a day of service, teaming with the Special Olympics to clean a park. Participants included Jade Davis-Green, Nikayah Hill, Keira Nonemaker, Sierra Lockhart and Jennica Nugent.

The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (New York) men’s cross country team qualified for the NCAA Division III championship meet with the help of Joe Pisacano, a graduate of St. Joseph’s Prep. ••
