Redistricting reform meetings

Rich Rafferty, Montgomery County coordinator of Fair Districts PA, will present Making Your Vote Count – Redistricting Reform on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m. at Fox Chase Library, 501 Rhawn St.

A similar presentation will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 6:45 p.m. at Northeast Regional Library, 2228 Cottman Ave.

Open house Sunday at Maternity BVM

Maternity BVM Elementary School, 9322 Old Bustleton Ave., will host an open house on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

The school invites families who are interested in having their children attend BVM. The open house will include tours, a scholastic book fair, a student art show, registration information and a chance to meet the teachers.

Get help with your resume, job search and interviewing skills with CareerLink at Northeast Regional Library, 2228 Cottman Ave., on Fridays through February.

The dates and times are Jan, 24 and Feb. 14 and 28 at 1 p.m. and Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 and 21 at 10 a.m. The sessions are free, and no registration is required. ••

Bag sale at local thrift shop

The women of Temple Menorah Keneseth Chai, 4301 Tyson Ave., are sponsoring a bag sale through Friday, Jan. 24.

Customers can fill a bag of clothing for $6. Weekday hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shop will be closed from Jan. 26-31 and reopen on Feb. 2, restocked with winter and spring clothing. Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 215-624-9600. ••

MaST holding casino fundraiser

MaST schools will hold a casino night fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 24, from 7 to 11 p.m., at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, 11630 Caroline Road.

Tickets cost $65 and include dinner, drinks, music, entertainment, casino games and free play money.

Feb. 1 flea market at St. Hubert

St. Hubert High School, 7320 Torresdale Ave., will host a flea market on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 7:30 a.m. to noon in the cafeteria.

Proceeds benefit the faculty scholarship fund.

KleinLife is going on the road

Citizenship classes at Tacony Library

The Philadelphia Citizenship Action Network will offer free citizenship classes at Tacony Library, 6742 Torresdale Ave.

An information session is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. The classes begin on Feb. 22.

Participants must bring their Green Card to the information session.

To apply, people must be 18 or older; be able to read, write and speak English; have a clean criminal record; and live in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware or Montgomery counties. Call 215-457-0272. ••

St. Bart celebrating St. Patrick’s Day

St. Bartholomew will present its St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza on Saturday, March 14, from 7 p.m. to midnight in the parish hall, 5600 Harbison Ave.

Tickets cost $40 and include a hot buffet, beer, soda, a DJ, basket raffle and 50/50. Guests must be 21 or older and are welcome to BYOB.
