Rhawnhurst’s Serena Pisacano, 20, is one of only eight winners of the Girl Scout Cookie Pro Entrepreneurs Award, and she is featured on the cover of Lemonades.
Pisacano is a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient who took a weeklong trip to the Girl Scouts headquarters in Manhattan after winning the contest. There, she learned marketing, packaging, design and development of the cookies. She also had her picture taken for placement on Lemonades, which went on sale last week for $4 a box.
A former Girl Scout summer camp counselor, Pisacano won the contest by submitting an application that included high yet realistic sales goals, outlining young women’s roles as future leaders and discussing her experiences in Scouts.
Pisacano was a star athlete at Little Flower and is a sophomore at Earlham College (Indiana). She’s worked as an American Red Cross lifeguard, become a wilderness-certified emergency medical technician, works as an EMT in Indiana, is a USA-certified field hockey referee and was an equestrian instructor in Girl Scout camp.
At Earlham, she is a tri-major in chemistry, geology and music and is a member of the field hockey, cross country and lacrosse teams. ••
