St. Hubert High School, 7320 Torresdale Ave., will host a flea market on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 7:30 a.m. to noon in the cafeteria.

Comedy show on Saturday

A comedy show will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Trifecta Sporting Club, 4668 Bristol Road, in Trevose. The show will feature Joe Bublewicz and the comedy magic of Jim Daly and Sophia Dicapula.

The cost is $20 and includes coffee, tea, chips and pretzels. There will be a cash bar and snacks available.

Performance on lady justices

Trish Chambers will portray Women Justices of the Supreme Court for members and guests of KleinLife, 10100 Jamison Ave., on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 1 to 2 p.m. Her performance will focus a spotlight on Sandra Day O’Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

Bag sale at local thrift shop

The thrift shop at Temple Menorah Keneseth Chai, 4301 Tyson Ave., will be closed through Jan. 31 and reopen on Sunday, Feb. 2, restocked with winter and spring clothing.

Citizenship classes at Tacony Library

The Philadelphia Citizenship Action Network will offer free citizenship classes at Tacony Library, 6742 Torresdale Ave. An information session is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. The classes begin on Feb. 22. Participants must bring their Green Card to the information session.

To apply, people must be 18 or older; be able to read, write and speak English; have a clean criminal record; and live in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware or Montgomery counties. Call 215-457-0272. ••

KleinLife is going on the road

Travel with KleinLife will go on a four-day, three-night trip to Newport, Rhode Island from June 8-11, 2020. Class of ‘68 celebrating 70th

Members of the South Philadelphia High School Class of 1968 will celebrate turning 70 years old at a buffet luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 24, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Waterfall Room, 2015 S. Water St.

Tickets cost $55 and include an open bar.

The luncheon is open to all classes of South Philadelphia High.

New programs at KleinLife

A new Lifelong Learning series for older adults will begin at KleinLife, located at 10100 Jamison Ave., on Feb. 12. The public is invited to participate.

Philadelphia Mills Advisory Council releases guidelines for community funds

The Philadelphia Mills Advisory Council has issued its guidelines for the distribution of the annual community funds received from the Simon Corporation.

The email and postmark deadlines are March 1 to apply for funds.

Grant application forms are available by emailing Jack Irwin at [email protected].

Forms may be sent to the PMAC, P.O, Box 21189, Philadelphia, PA 19154-0389 or emailed to [email protected].

Below are the guidelines:

• All requests for funds should be submitted on the grant application form and signed by an officer or authorized person of the organization.

• All requests must be submitted by organizations located within the FMAC membership boundaries (ZIP code 19154) and must benefit the immediate community.

• An actual amount of money must be requested (no approximate figures), with any additional details and support for the proposed expenditures.

• Requests must be emailed or postmarked by March 1 of the year funds are to be distributed.

• All requests will be reviewed and voted upon by the council, and approved funds will be distributed by June 30.

• The council will have no liability or responsibility subsequent to the distribution of the funds.

• Upon being granted funds, the funded organization and the council will sign an agreement at the time of the check presentation. This agreement will include a release of liability and responsibility on the part of the council and will state how the funds will be used by the recipient organization. Any interest earned on these funds will be returned to the council and any monies not used by March 1 of the year following the receipt of the funds will also be returned to the council. The council will also have the right to ask for a pre- and a post-inspection and/or audit of the funds received. The scheduling for this inspection and/or audit will be coordinated by the council’s vice president. If the amount of the award is large enough, the council may require the creation of a separate account by the organization that has received the award.

• If an organization is not granted funds, it may re-submit a request the following year.

• The names of the organizations receiving funds will be published through a news release.

• No funds will be granted to an individual. ••
