Marquis Who’s Who, a publisher of biographical profiles, presented Fox Chase resident George Tomezsko with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tomezsko has been an adjunct professor of history at Manor College in Jenkintown since 2007. In 2002, he served as a technical writer at McNeil Pharmaceutical in Fort Washington.
Before these positions, he was an editor at Merck & Company Inc. in West Point, Montgomery County, from 1999 to 2001. From 1994 to 2004, he worked as a news reporter at the Northeast News Gleaner. His first professional position was as a technical writer at BIOSIS in Philadelphia.
Tomezsko got his start writing as a college student for The Temple News. He earned a master’s in political philosophy from Temple in 1974. In 1971, he received a degree in political science from La Salle College.
The books Tomezsko has authored over the years include Upward Journey, Flawed Foundings, Fully Occupied Years, An Afternoon in May and Gird Yourselves for this Great Effort.
Additionally, he has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1991 and the Deputy Grand Knight of Assumpta Council 3885 since 2016. He was inducted into the honor roll of the Chapel of Four Chaplains at Temple in 1991.
