Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park, 8401 Roosevelt Blvd., sent a letter to residents and families, alerting them that an employee tested positive for the coronavirus.
The letter, from executive director Suzanne H. Lachman, noted that another employee is awaiting results of a test.
A third employee is showing symptoms, according to the letter.
All three are in self-quarantine at home, Lachman wrote. No residents or other employees have tested positive.
Due to privacy regulations, no more information was shared.
WEL Pennypack offers independent living residences, personal care services and a rehabilitation and skilled nursing center.
At WEL Pennypack Park, only those who provide vital medical care are allowed inside. The community has eliminated outings and group activities and dining experiences.
There are daily health screenings for employees, who must wear masks at all times and gloves when providing care to a resident.
Lachman said, “We are committed to keeping our community informed as best we can. At Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park, we continue to take appropriate actions to help keep our residents and staff safe, such as instituting visitor restrictions, social-distancing practices and employee health screenings multiple times per day.” ••
