“This is now the fourth year that the Philadelphia Young Republicans have been able to use politics to make a real impact in our community” said Ross Wolfe, chairman of the Philadelphia Young Republicans. “I am very proud of those inside and outside of our organization who contributed to this cause. With everyone focused on the 2020 election, we hope this event reminds people in both parties that politics should focus on helping the community.”

“Although every year there are students in Philadelphia in need of backpacks and supplies, we believe this year may be the most impactful,” Wolfe said. “Due to the at-home learning in Philadelphia this year, students who rely on borrowing supplies at school may be unable to do so at home, and we hope the supplies we provided make things easier on the students, parents, teachers and staff.”

The Philadelphia Young Republicans donated the backpacks to the following schools: William Loesche (595 Tomlinson Road); Gilbert Spruance (6401 Horrocks St.); Morton McMichael (3543 Fairmount Ave.); Joseph W. Catharine (6600 Chester Ave.); Henry Lea (4700 Locust St.); Bridesburg (2824 Jenks St.); and Edward T. Steel (4301 Wayne Ave.). ••
