Police are looking for motives and suspects in two local Monday murders.
At about 5:11 p.m., police responded to an emergency 911 call on the 1300 block of Fanshawe St. in Castor Gardens. There, they found a male with multiple gunshot wounds to the body while inside a Nissan Altima. He was pronounced dead on the scene. He was identified as Tashon Whitfield, 22, of the 2900 block of N. 27th St. No weapon was recovered.
At about 6:43 p.m., police responded to a 911 call on the 800 block of Brill St. in Summerdale. They found a male nearby on the 5600 block of Langdon St. with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was identified as Lamont Brown, 17, of the 6600 block of Erdrick St. in Tacony. No weapon was recovered. ••
