Christmas is just a few days away, and Northeast families will be enjoying a holiday meal and gift-giving.
Yet, others will struggle to find the means necessary to celebrate, particularly as the coronavirus pandemic remains.
The 72nd annual Eleanor Smylie Community Fund drive is attempting to help the needy again this year.
We have been hearing from people who need help, and our readers have been making donations to help people like them for more than seven decades. All money collected is used to buy gift cards to provide holiday dinners and children’s gifts, and it’s not too late to donate. We’ll get the gift cards to needy people on Christmas Day as long as the need continues.
