Pre-Christmas blessing for the needy

Ray of Hope, a charity run by Frankford’s Ray Gant, distributed 150 boxes of goods on the morning of Dec. 23 outside St. James Lutheran Church, Castor Avenue and Pratt Street in Northwood.

The Rev. Paul Andell, pastor at St. James, accepted Gant’s request to have the church be the distribution site.

Ray of Hope raised money for the initiative, and Lancaster-based Blessings of Hope made the delivery.

The boxes weighed more than 40 pounds and included canned goods, eggs, milk, potatoes, bacon, chips and yogurt.

Volunteers included members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. ••
