St. Martha student council makes PB and J for the needy

St. Martha Elementary School student council on Saturday made more than 300 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Project HOME as part of a service project.

The student council co-moderators are sixth-grade teacher Mrs. Houseman and eighth-grade teacher Mrs. Coates.

Student council collected peanut butter, jelly and bread. School families, parishioners, St. Martha Board of Limited Jurisdiction and Trader Joe’s of Jenkintown donated to the cause.

Also assisting the effort were Mrs. Brown, Mrs. McCrossan, Mrs. Forsythe, Mrs. Konstance and Mr. Dunlap.

Project H.O.M.E. distributed the sandwiches to the nearby shelters for those in need. Student council also provided jars of peanut butter and jelly for the charity’s pantry. ••
