The Holmesburg Civic Association met last week on Zoom, discussing a proposed hair salon at Cottman Avenue and Walker Street and a car sales lot on the 4400 block of Holmesburg Ave.
Civic association president Tara Gontek said she is working with the office of City Councilman Bobby Henon about the former Sheffield Tavern at 4501 Sheffield Ave. The building is boarded up and has graffiti, and the parking lot is filled with trash and debris. Gontek said a moratorium on sheriff’s sales is slowing the process of finding a responsible owner.
As far as places to obtain a coronavirus vaccine, one recommendation was Deluxe Pharmacy, 8749 Frankford Ave.
