Police on Monday charged a man and woman with murder in last month’s death of Peter Gerold, 70, of the 1000 block of Sanibel St. in Somerton.

DNA results of items taken from the victim’s house that were compared to samples from Gerold’s recovered body parts are a match, police said.
Those charged were Taray Herring, 47, and Jeanette Pace, 42.
Back on Feb. 11, officers in the 7th Police District responded to a burglary involving a U-Haul truck. They saw the truck traveling south on Kelvin Avenue. Upon investigation, they found a human torso inside the U-Haul. Trash bags with human remains were recovered from nearby Dumpsters. ••
