City Councilman Brian O’Neill is teaming with Walgreens for a coronavirus vaccine clinic for Far Northeast residents on Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, 11630 Caroline Road.

St. James Lutheran Church, Castor Avenue and Pratt Street, will host a flea market on Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Ways to donate blood

The American Red Cross will hold a series of blood drives at Cpl. John Loudenslager American Legion Post 366, 7976 Oxford Ave.

Future drives are April 27, May 11 and May 24, all from 1 to 6 p.m.

Vaccines on Friday

State Sen. Tina Tartaglione, in partnership with Lehigh Pharmacy, is holding a vaccine clinic on Friday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Baptist Worship Center, 4790 James St.

People 16 or older will receive the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, with the second dose administered May 14.

Appointments are necessary. No walk-ins will be accepted. Call 215-533-0440. ••

Frankford CDC gets grant

State Sen. Christine Tartaglione announced that the Frankford Community Development Corporation has been awarded grant funding under the COVID-19 Relief – Supporting Elm and Main program.

FCDC, of 4667 Paul St., will receive $50,000 to help it replenish income it lost due to the pandemic and support its Elm Street initiative.

“The Frankford CDC, under the leadership of executive director Kimberly Washington, has demonstrated a tremendous ability to foster economic growth and job creation in Lower Northeast Philadelphia while improving access to affordable housing and enhancing community spaces. Frankford needs the CDC. This funding will help sustain it through this very difficult period for us all,” Tartaglione said. ••

Vendor fair on May 1

The community is invited to a vendor fair on Saturday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Delaire Landing, 9355 State Road.

The fair will take place in the parking lot by the tennis courts. The rain date is May 8.

Farm stand getting ready to open

The farm stand on the Temple University Hospital – Jeanes Campus will open on May 6 and continue every Thursday through Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Goods for sale include fresh fruits, vegetables, cage-free brown eggs, cheeses, apple butter, pumpkin butter and raw honey. Items vary week to week.

The stand is located next to Parking Lot C on campus grounds, 7600 Central Ave.
