The 13th annual Philadelphia Oral Cancer Walk & 5K will take virtually from May 1-8.
The event is in support of the Penn Dental Medicine Oral Cancer Care and Research Fund.
Participants are encouraged to walk or run in their neighborhoods and pay what they can. Their progress can be tracked through the app Strava, and results can be shared on social media platforms.
There will be free oral cancer screenings on Saturday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Penn Dental Medicine, 240 S. 40th St. From 2 to 3 p.m., there will be a virtual Zoom call to celebrate the event. Speakers have been invited to share their experiences.
