Sud’s Factory, a car wash at 7930 Roosevelt Blvd., officially opened on Saturday, cutting a ribbon and making a donation to a police widow.

Car washes were free earlier in the week, though customers were invited to make a donation to Vita Walker, a Fox Chase resident and wife of police Lt. James Walker, who died in April 2020 of the coronavirus.

Walker was on hand for the grand opening to accept a check for $3,000 from co-owners K.C. Fordham and Chris Caporale.

“The community was really supportive,” Fordham said. “We’ll always support fire and police at this location.”

Sud’s, open seven days a week, is a little south of Rhawn Street. The entrance and exit are on Loney Street.

The site has been a car wash since 1959. Sud’s replaces Nu-Look.

Fordham and Caporale have overhauled the interior and exterior of the property, with the owners saying they have the best tunnel in the Philadelphia area. Customers can get a free vacuum before getting their car washed.

Until Saturday, customers can continue to donate to Walker in a drop box at the pay station. A “Wash for a Cause” GoFundMe page will be open through June 26.

“He gave his life in the line of duty through COVID-19,’ Vita Walker said of her husband. “It’s an honor that people remember him as he lived. These guys are great.” ••
