A dog and 2 guinea pigs up for adoption

Phoenix is a lovely, squishy, medium-sized (maybe 55 pounds) girl who is around 2-3 years old. This sarling should be an only pet in her new home, but is a lovely girl willing to give you all her love.

She is a great girl who is fully housetrained (but may have a few small accidents as she gets acclimated) and crate trained. She would be fine with older, school-aged children. She would benefit from losing a little weight.

To meet her or complete an application, go to www.dogtownrescue.org. ••

Abu and Umar, a year old, were left abandoned at the local shelter with no real information. They were bought at a local pet store and owned for about 7½ months before being surrendered.

They are happy boys who would love to popcorn into your hearts. The boys need a patient owner who is willing to accept them as they are. They will need time to adjust and accept handling. They love their nightly veggies and can be very vocal while waiting for them.

Guinea pigs are prey animals, and it’s natural for them to hide. They need an extra-large habitat for room to popcorn and play. Potential adopters will be asked to provide proof of habitat. Research owning guinea pigs and be fully aware of what is involved. They require lots of time and space. Make sure you have no allergies to them or hay that is fed.

Guinea pigs are extremely social animals, especially with pigs of the same sex. Guinea pigs live an average of 5 to 8 years, sometimes longer.
