The Pennypack Park Music Festival has moved to Cannstatter’s, 9130 Academy Road, this year.
All concerts are Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
The next concert is July 21, featuring The Launch, a tribute to Queen.
The rest of the schedule consists of HotLanta (tribute to the Allman Brothers), Aug. 4; the Beat Tells (tribute to the Beatles), Aug. 11; Romeo Delight (tribute to Van Halen), Aug. 18; and Kick It Out (tribute to Heart), Sept. 8. ••

Jehovah’s convention virtual
The Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses, typically held locally at the Liacouras Center, is taking place in a virtual format for the second year in a row.
In all, there will be nearly 6,000 virtual conventions in 240 countries.
Powerful by Faith is the theme of the global event, which is being delivered in more than 500 languages over six weekends during July and August.
The program will be available in six installments corresponding to morning and afternoon sessions.

Philadelphia residents can visit a state multi-agency resource center for assistance related to recent storm damage.

Boyle wants federal aid
U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle, in response to recent widespread flood damage in the 2nd Congressional District, wrote a letter to Gov. Tom Wolf, calling upon him to request federal support in the form of a major disaster declaration.
“Within a span of a few hours, several inches of rain fell on residential neighborhoods adjacent to the Delaware River, Poquessing Creek and in other flood-prone areas of my district,” Boyle wrote, in part. “As a result, my office has been contacted by over one hundred residents over the past two days who’ve seen significant property damage as a result of flooding.” ••
Help for pets
Women’s Animal Center, 3839 Richlieu Road in Bensalem, is providing assistance for families and pets impacted by recent flooding.
Women’s Animal Center is assisting with pet food and safe shelter for dogs and cats. The center will also provide free pet food for families at the upcoming Fresh Connect Food Pantry in Bristol on Friday, July 23.
Pet owners may call 215-942-6826 to make arrangements for temporary housing of their pets.
To make a pet food donation, drop off unopened bags of dry dog and cat food (no larger than 20 pounds) at Women’s Animal Center, Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Basketball camp at St. Ephrem
The 14th annual Jaguar St. Ephrem Basketball Camp for boys and girls will be held July 26-30 at the air-conditioned gym at St. Ephrem, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem.
The cost is $125 and includes a basketball and T-shirt.

Group to meet next month
The West Torresdale/Morrell Park Civic Association canceled its July 15 meeting due to flooding in the basement of Christ the King hall.
The meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, Aug. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at CTK.
There will be a vote for a variance for the property at 3693-95 Morrell Ave., the proposed expansion of Apple Tree Daycare.

Hohenstein wants ICE detainees released
State Rep. Joe Hohenstein is calling for the immediate release of detainees at York County Prison, being operated by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
ICE will soon be leaving the prison, but detainees will be transferred to another facility.
“I represented my first immigration clients in York County Prison in 1995, more than 25 years ago. Now that it is closing, the people with cases need to be near their families and legal representatives,” Hohenstein said. “Most of the detainees have a stake in staying connected to the system, and they have claims that will let them become legal or keep their legal status. They deserve to be released as soon as possible. It is the only humane course of action for people who often have already been in the U.S. for years and have family here.” ••
