LeadingAge PA holds career fair at Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack

LeadingAge PA held a career fair at Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack, 8401 Roosevelt Blvd. Seventy-two people signed up to attend the event, showing that people are at a point of a career change or seeking new employment.

Shalea Pearsell interviews for a position and was hired on the spot.

LeadingAge PA represents about 380 senior service providers in the state. It also advocates in Harrisburg to ensure action is taken to provide the best quality of care and service.

“Our role is to make sure that those who share our vision share our core values of putting the needs of older adults first, that those providers have the resources they need to do their job well,” Adam Marles, CEO of LeadingAge PA, said.

There are many positions offered such as administration, hospitality, life enrichment and activities, maintenance and housekeeping, nursing, home care, doctors and respiratory therapists.

Stephanie Gregory filled out her paperwork after she was hired as a medical technician.

Candidates had to bring their ID and Social Security card, a copy of a physical if they had one, their vaccination card, and for nursing positions, they had to bring their nursing license. If they didn’t have a copy of their physical, Wesley Enhanced Living would help them obtain it.

Stephanie Gregory described the process as easy. She was hired on the spot as a medical technician. “I parked when I came in, and there were signs of today’s event. So I got screened [for temperature], and I got hired,” Gregory said. “I think it’s great.”
