The Philadelphia Protestant Home last week presented awards for donors and community service.
PPH honored this year’s winners, along with the awardees from 2020, since no ceremony was held.
Donor Appreciation Awards went to John Wozniak and the Schea and Lloyd families.
Wozniak is a PPH independent living resident who is a financial supporter of the home.
James and Caroline Schea Lloyd and Frederick and Kathleen Schea established the Eberhard and Helen Schea Endowment Fund in memory of the parents of Caroline and Frederick. Ebbie and Helen were PPH residents and donors.
The Church of St. William and the Northeast Times received Community Leadership and Service Awards.
St. William has served Lawncrest for 101 years and hosts a weekly Mass on Thursdays and a Sunday Communion service at PPH. Since the early 1990s, the following pastors have served on the PPH Board of Directors: Monsignor James Mortimer, Monsignor Nelson Perez (now archbishop of Philadelphia) and the Revs. Joseph Watson and Al Concha.
The Northeast Times has served the Northeast for 87 years, reporting on news and high school sports and giving readers a chance to submit letters to the editor. The paper has chronicled various events at PPH.
John Dubyk, president and CEO at PPH, presented the awards, and guests watched a “We’re Family”-themed video, which is available on the home’s website.
PPH is located at 6401 Martins Mill Road. For more information, visit PPHFamily.org or the Protestant Home’s page on Facebook. ••
