Reale’s Sports Bar & Grill, 7233 Frankford Ave., will be celebrating 30 years in Mayfair with a customer appreciation day on Saturday, Oct. 16, beginning at 3 p.m.
Reale’s has been at its current location for 25 years after five years at Frankford Avenue and Wellington Street.
The bar has recently made storefront improvements, specifically signage and an awning, along with a new tile floor, fresh painting and refurbished tables and chairs.
Saturday’s celebration will feature live music, a DJ, games, prizes, giveaways and food and drink specials, such as half-price wings and buckets of five beers for $10 until 9 p.m.
“We’re getting back to normalcy, and this is a celebration of everything,” said manager Gary Goldman Jr.
Goldman Jr., of Port Richmond, manages the bar with Tony Rosso. The owners are Gary Goldman Sr. and Dolores Rosso.
“The bar business has been real good. We’re very fortunate,” said Goldman Sr., of Lexington Park.
Reale’s is packed for every Eagles game and draws good crowds when the other local teams are doing well.
Reale’s opened in 1991 and did good business at its former site. The bar moved into its current location, which once housed a dollar store, in 1996, and business remains good. Half of the business is food sales, with 17,000 wings sold a week.
The owners and managers credit dedicated employees and regulars.
“We have great, loyal customers,” Tony Rosso said.
Everyone is invited to Saturday’s party, the first of its kind since a 20-year celebration, especially former employees and customers who might have moved away. It’ll be a reunion of sorts.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Goldman Sr. said.
