Northeast Jewish Life on Sunday night held a community Hanukkah celebration outside House of Kosher, 9806 Bustleton Ave.
The evening included music by Eliyahu Bass, balloon art, latkes and doughnuts by House of Kosher, menorah lighting by various community members and remarks by state Rep. Jared Solomon and Carrie Matez and Jack Belitsky, director and chairman, respectively, of Northeast Jewish Life.
Candles were lit by Rabbi Eichanan Abergel and family, of Dibrot Eliyahu; Avi and Ezzy Haber, of B’nai Israel; Shaare Shamayim president Fran Gabriel and Steven Albert and Jeanne Kolodner, of Singles over 55; Eliyahu Davidoff, Jewish day schools representative; Tania Trachtenberg, Anna Smolenskaya and Bella Teperov, of Uru Achim; Sheila Dresner and Batya Haas, of Temple Menorah; Jonathan Sandberg and family, of Beth Ami; and Politz Hebrew Academy students Shmuel and Matisyahu Polin.
