The 35th Annual Philadelphia All-Star Labor Classic, a showcase of the region’s best male and female high school basketball talent, will take place Sunday, April 10, at Ridley High School in Folsom, Delaware County.
The annual event is the signature fundraiser of the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council, led by Business Manager Ryan N. Boyer. In addition to games featuring City Girls vs. Suburban Girls at 12:15 p.m. and City Boys vs. Suburban Boys at 2:30 p.m., this year’s event will bring back the Labor All-Stars vs. Media All-Stars preliminary game at 10 a.m.
“The All-Star Labor Classic is a beloved institution that the Building Trades Council is proud to have staged for the past 35 years,” Boyer said. “We’re grateful to Ridley High School for once again agreeing to host this iconic showcase of the region’s best youth basketball talent.”
Northeast-area players chosen for the game are Jalen Flowers, Father Judge; Elliot Raymond, Frankford; Gianna Grassifulli, St. Hubert; Kathleen Harmon, Nazareth Academy; and Delaney Maier, Franklin Towne Charter.
The Philadelphia All-Star Labor Classic provides all participants with $500 scholarships and also raises significant funds for an area charity. This year’s designated charity will once again be the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Since its inception 35 years ago, the Philadelphia All-Star Labor Classic has raised nearly $3 million for local students and charities. ••
