Meatball, Mink need new homes

Meatball came to the rescue as a stray and it was clear that wherever he was before, life has been cruel to him. Meatball didn’t let his past define him and he is the absolute sweetest dog. He loves everyone he meets, people, dogs and cats alike. He would prefer a quieter home as he is a huge couch potato and wants to chill, sleep and be loved all day with cuddles. A home with children 6 and older is recommended because he likes a calmer, more relaxed environment.

Meatball’s ideal home is someone who is home for the majority of the day, as he does suffer from separation anxiety and is so scared to be left again. He does get worked up when left alone. No apartment life, as Meatball may annoy your neighbors if left alone.

Meatball is potty trained, neutered, microchipped and up to date on all shots. Meatball does have some old-dog arthritis (specifically in his elbows) and is on daily meds for this as well as shots for his allergies. For more info on this baby, email freedomfirstrescue@gmail.com.

Meanwhile, join Philadoptables for the 11th annual Love Potions Happy Hour on Saturday, April 9, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Broken Goblet Brewing, 2500 State Road in Bensalem. Admission is $10. Mink, a hamster, came to Northeast Animal Rescue with several siblings, her mom and dad late in February. She was part of a surrender from a hoarding/breeding situation. She is curious and actively seeks attention, though she isn’t quite so sure about being handled. She doesn’t struggle with being picked up but will sit for only a moment or two. She is easily startled but loves to accept treats. Mink chews and climbs on the bars of her current set up and would do best in a set up without bars or chewable plastic. She would also do well with someone who has a lot of time to devote to her.
