The Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals and their venue, the Ukrainian American Sport Center, partnered with the Burholme-based United Ukrainian American Relief Committee to raise funds toward the UUARC’s Humanitarian Aid to Victims of War in Ukraine Fund.

On Saturday, the UASC’s Director of External Relations, Eugene A. Luciw, delivered a check in the amount of $35,000 to the UUARC’S headquarters at 1206 Cottman Ave. This was the first of what are expected to be multiple contributions of money raised from people, businesses and institutions.

The UUARC is an established 501c3 charity that has been effectively providing all manner of international humanitarian relief for nearly 80 years. One of its first tasks was to provide relief and avenues of lawful immigration into the USA for thousands of Ukrainians who had been displaced by World War II.

To donate, make check payable and mail to United Ukrainian American Relief Committee Inc., 1206 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia PA 19111. In the memo, write “Humanitarian aid – War in Ukraine.”
