Walking for window shades

Benny the Bobcat

Blessed Trinity Elementary School, 3033 Levick St., last week took part in its eighth annual walk-a-thon. The event benefited the replacement of the window shades at both school buildings.

More than 200 students in pre-kindergarten to fourth grade participated in the first session, followed by more than 190 students in fifth to eighth grades.

The youngsters walked along Battersby Street to Rawle Street, then along Hawthorne Street back to school. A pickup truck, with mascot Benny the Bobcat in the back, led the way. ••
