St. Martha adds 4 to Hall of Fame

St. Martha Parish on Sunday inducted four people into its Hall of Fame during its annual communion breakfast.

Below are the inductees:

• Claire Cole has been president of St. Martha Seniors and involved in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the parish anniversary committee, the pastoral council and Liturgy of the Word.

• Frank Kain was an original choir member, performed in concerts and at nursing homes as part of the chorale, cantors Mass and baptisms (including a cappella) and raised money for the parish as a telemarketer.

• Drew McQuade has been involved with the parish since 1978, was a member of the first Home and School Association, has a son who is a St. Martha graduate, is a former St. Martha substitute teacher, has coached CYO sports for 33 years, is the director and starter of Philadelphia CYO track meets and has worked at the Penn Relays. He worked as a writer and editor for the Bucks County Courier Times and Philadelphia Daily News, retiring the night the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

• Dolly Tyndall is the mother of five St. Martha graduates, counts Sunday envelopes, is a Jefferson Torresdale Hospital volunteer, has been a lunch mom, a member of the parish council and volunteered for Oktoberfest, bingo, the beef and beer, the all-class reunion and the installation as pastor of the Rev. Jonathan Dalin.

The honorees were recognized at the 8 a.m. Mass, in addition to the breakfast in the gym, where Pastor Dalin offered prayer. Father Andy Golias put a medal around each inductee’s neck, and Hall of Fame Committee chairman Rich Konstance presented them with a plaque.

The guest speaker was Kevin Kelly, vice president for development for the Foundation for Catholic Education.

Helen Konstance served as emcee. Frank Francesco, Martha Lynch and Joanne Trusdell also served on the committee.

Archbishop Ryan sophomore Christopher Yengbeh, a St. Martha graduate, sang the national anthem. ••
