East Stroudsburg

A total of 1,021 students received degrees from East Stroudsburg University: 800 bachelor’s degrees, 214 master’s degrees and seven doctoral degrees. The following local students were among those to graduate: Danielle Morris, Leah Whitney, Matthew Ademola, Janae Cherilus, Shelly Moyal, Princess Ellis and Rebecca Iannacone. ••

Yelisa Quintana was one of 27 Albright College students presenting original artwork for the Freedman Gallery’s annual juried student exhibit. A graduate of Northeast High School, Quintana’s artwork included “White,” “Blue” and “Orange” (Acrylic on board). Quintana’s “White” received the President Award. Quintana is studying art and sociology/criminology. ••

Tori Watson has been named a Jacob Albright Scholar. A graduate of New Foundations Charter School and a member of the Albright College honors program, Watson is completing a bachelor of arts degree in health psychology. Established in 1982, the Jacob Albright Society includes Albright graduates with a grade point average of 3.85 or higher, who have completed at least half their course work at the college. Watson is one of 27 members of Albright College’s class of 2022 named lifetime Jacob Albright Society members. ••

Massiel Del Orbe has earned year-end recognition for academic work at Albright College. A graduate of Northeast High School, Del Orbe is studying business administration and psychology. Del Orbe has earned the Julia Award (Senior). Julia Awards honor the life of Julia Pankratz by recognizing two Albright students – a senior and a freshman – for intellectual adventurousness, creativity and cheerful courage in the face of adversity. ••

Bloomsburg University held its First World graduation Ceremony, sponsored by the BU Multicultural Center. The biannual ceremony is celebrated each fall and spring to congratulate the achievements – academic and leadership roles – of BU’s multicultural students at the baccalaureate and graduate degree levels. Leslie Mensah was one of this semester’s 19 graduates. ••

Adetokunbo Oladapo Sotoyinbo made the spring 2022 dean’s list at the University of North Georgia for achieving at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B. ••

Albright College’s class of 2022 graduates celebrated the 162nd commencement ceremony at Santander Arena on May 15. Local graduates and their high schools and degrees are below.

Hailee Elizabeth Brooks (Archbishop Ryan, Sociology: Criminology); Carleigh Victoria Molinaro (St. Hubert, crime and justice, magna cum laude); Yelisa Desarae Quintana (Northeast, Art, Sociology: Criminology); Tori Richai Watson (New Foundations, health psychology, summa cum laude); Leticia Vasconcelos Borges (Northeast, biology, cum laude); Massiel Del Orbe (Northeast, business administration, psychology); Sinthia Michelle Rodriguez (Northeast, Psychobiology: Molecular). ••

Ashlee Hofner was recently initiated into the Cabrini University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. ••
