Presentation BVM fifth-graders read the book, The Lemonade War, with a goal of starting and running a company. They were assigned jobs: market analysis, executive summary, marketing strategy, accounting, sales and operations and worked in small groups to get their business up and running.

The students learned technical skills during the assignment, using Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. Mr. Micah Sumner, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, taught students about budgets. They wrote a business plan, pitched their proposal to investors and ran an advertising campaign. Students highlighted their work by having a lemonade sale. They raised $138 for Rising Together Alliance, which provides a Catholic education for children with intellectual disabilities. ••
