U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle last week announced the winners of his annual Congressional Art Competition for high school students.

The overall winner was Zsa Zsa Hansen, a student at Kensington Creative and Performing Arts who moved here from Germany a year ago. Her artwork will be displayed in the tunnel of the Capitol Complex for a year.

The runners-up were Nazareth Academy’s Emily Kraus and the Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush’s Jack Knittel and Nicole Antolines. Their artwork will be displayed in Boyle’s district offices.

Boyle honored the winners during a June 1 ceremony at Community College of Philadelphia’s Northeast Regional Center. He presented them with framed congressional proclamations.

The congressman has held the contest in each of his eight years in office. He is hoping for more entries in future years, as he recalled greater participation when his district included large portions of Montgomery County. ••
