St. James Lutheran Church, Castor Avenue and Pratt Street, on Sunday morning held a service of remembrance to mark the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
The service included prayer, time for reflection and performances of the Star-Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful.
Pastor Paul Andell lit 21 candles to remember it’s been 21 year since some 3,000 people died in the attacks.
Andell was joined by the Rev. Clarence Miller, of St. James; Pastor Larry Fowler, of Northeast Liberty Lutheran Church; and Cristina Mancini, senior warden at St. Mark’s Church, Frankford. ••
