American Heritage Credit Union employees volunteered their time to make more than 400 meals through Caring for Friends’ meal-packing program to help feed community members throughout the region. American Heritage partnered with Caring for Friends early this year and scheduled multiple packing day events throughout 2022 as part of the credit union’s commitment to help to help make a long-term impact in the lives of those in need.
As kitchen volunteers, more than 20 American Heritage employees prepared food and organized meals for Caring for Friends’ homebound seniors. Caring for Friends volunteers make weekly home visits to deliver these meals and visit with seniors, veterans, people with disabilities and other isolated homebound people throughout the Philadelphia region.
The snack-packaging event was the second of three events that American Heritage and its employees will hold this year to provide food for individuals and families in need throughout the area. Caring for Friends serves about 10,000 homebound individuals and homeless people.
“The need for food donations continues to increase drastically in our region as inflation and overall food costs rise,” said Bruce K. Thanks to their hard work, more than 1,000 individuals in our community will enjoy nutritious meals and receive additional food items.
