St. William Parish donates big to foundation

The 17 young people who recently made their confirmation at St. William Parish completed a service project that collected toys and money for the nonprofit Kisses for Kyle Foundation.

The foundation is named in memory Kyle Snyder, a 2½-year-old boy who died of cancer in 1998. It provides events, programs, services and gifts for families battling childhood cancer.

Retired Bishop Edward Deliman celebrated the confirmation Mass on Oct. 12.

The confirmation class, under the direction of instructors Kathy McDonough and Kevin O’Malley, collected about 200 toys and $350 for the foundation

McDonough thanked the congregation during Sunday’s noon Mass.

“You came through tremendously,” she said.

The following young people, with their confirmation names italicized, took part in the project: Ashley Narcisa Agurto, Aida Agnes Astudillo, Lucy Lucy Astudillo, Nathan Nathaniel Boota, Emily Mary Brito, Aracelia Maria Class, Keily Faith DePablos, Jonathan Francis Leon, Juliah Monica Pierre, Darianny Mary Regalado, Orcelys Mary Reyes, Christopher Luis Robles, Juan Juan Diego Roque, Yuriah John Shamoon, Sandra Maria de la Luz Silva, Genesis Elizabeth Tavares and Gennesis Amelia Tolentino. ••
