HotWorx, a 24-hour infrared fitness studio, held a ribbon-cutting celebration on Saturday at its new location at 1713 Grant Ave.
The facility features sauna workouts with virtual instructors.
The HotWorx philosophy is to offer members heated workouts that speed up metabolism, accelerate recovery, burn calories and maximize fitness results.
Virtual instructor Ashlee B came from Oklahoma for the grand opening and to lead live workouts, and Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce president Pam Henshall provided the giant scissors for the ribbon cutting.
Co-owners Tim Alloway and Teresa Watson opened in a former Radio Shack. They have 425 members.
At the grand opening, there was a collection of food for Philabundance and raffle baskets to benefit Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Members can use the studio 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Staffed hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members use a code to gain entrance when there is no staff, and there are interior and exterior cameras and an emergency button that goes directly to the police department.
