Neighbors in need

The 74th annual Eleanor Smylie Community Fund drive is collecting money to assist needy people during the holidays.

For seven-plus decades, Times readers have contributed to the fund, helping their neighbors provide holiday dinners and gifts for their kids. The fund is named in memory of the Times‘ late chairwoman.

All money collected will be used to buy gift cards for struggling individuals and families.

Christmas and Hanukkah are a few weeks away, but needy neighbors would be comforted knowing soon they will have help this holiday season.

We’ll publish the names of donors. If you prefer to donate anonymously, that’s OK.

If you would like to request help, or if you know of someone who could use assistance during the holidays, write a letter to:

Eleanor Smylie Community Fund

130 Twinbridge Drive

Pennsauken, NJ 08110

Include a name and contact information for an agency or person for verification.

Everything about the process will remain anonymous.

If you are able to donate, please send a check to the Eleanor Smylie Community Fund at the address above. Any amount would be appreciated.

Thank you for your consideration. ••
