Adopt-A-Family Program raised $26,000 to purchase hundreds of “wish list” items for 21 families within the communities American Heritage serves.

American Heritage Credit Union hosted its annual Adopt-A-Family programs and donation drives this holiday season.

The program raised more than $26,000 to purchase “wish list” items for 21 families in the areas American Heritage serves. Northeast Family YMCA was among the recipients.

Each family’s wish list included toys, books and necessities such as coats and footwear. American Heritage’s Board of Directors also donated ShopRite gift cards worth $700 for each of those families to cover grocery costs this holiday season.

During the last 33 years, American Heritage’s Adopt-A-Family Program has raised more than $318,000 for local families and children in need.

Additionally, American Heritage’s Business Development team partnered with Catholic Community Services to purchase gifts for 24 children who are a part of the agency’s child welfare services. Roughly $3,000 was donated by American Heritage to purchase more than 50 presents for the agency.

“Our associates and Board of Directors come together each year to make the holidays special for many local families and members who need our help,” said Bruce K. Foulke, American Heritage president and CEO. “Credit unions are about people helping people. There are so many families who need help more than ever in our own community, and I am proud that the American Heritage family is always willing to give their time, energy and resources to brighten the lives of others. On behalf of American Heritage’s Board of Directors, employees and members, I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.”
