Michael Tallarida has been named to the dean’s list at Hamilton College (New York) for the 2022 fall semester. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must have carried a courseload of four or more graded credits throughout the semester and earned an average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale. Tallarida, a freshman, is a graduate of Haverford School. ••
The twelfth class of Penn State Altoona’s Sheetz Fellows was inducted recently. Michael Jackson was among 17 students inducted. All Sheetz Fellows are required to maintain at least a 3.25 in major GPA, in addition to completing an option in entrepreneurship or an entrepreneurship minor, a minimum of 80 hours of servant leadership, a mentor program, a study away experience, an internship or research initiative and an ethics course. Sheetz Fellows receive a $5,000 scholarship during their junior year and a $10,000 scholarship during their senior year, fully paid travel, lodging and events for a 10-day Sheetz Fellows study away experience, participation in a national conference, in addition to other numerous leadership and travel opportunities. All students graduating Penn State Altoona as a Sheetz Fellow receive a medallion and special recognition at commencement. ••
Kyle Zayas took part in Celebrating Female Composers, a concert featuring Albright College’s choral ensembles. A graduate of Swenson Arts & Technology High School majoring in music industry studies and theater at Albright, Zayas participated as a tenor in Albright Chorale, Albright Chamber Ensemble and Bona Vox. ••
The following DeSales University students will participate in the DeSales University Dance Ensemble Concert, as part of the school’s year-long 40th anniversary celebration of the dance program. Breana Cahill will dance in a work titled Summiting; Isabelle DiTullio will dance in a work titled Flock and be an understudy in How We Hear Sound; and Shannon Sakaitis will dance in works titled Solar and DeSales Occurrence. The concert opens on March 17. ••
Elana Kline was named to the dean’s list at Biola University (California) for academic excellence. Kline, a Cinema and Media Arts major, was one of about 1,700 students who were named to the dean’s list in fall 2022. Biola students are placed on the dean’s list to honor those with a GPA of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credits and whose cumulative GPA is at least 3.2. ••
