St. Hubert’s Connelly Arts and Design Center is ready for construction and accepted a bid to begin construction. This space renovation will be taking place in the previous library in the lower level of the school building.
“The transformation of existing space will equip the faculty and administrators with the ability to continuously explore timely curricular innovations such as ‘wearable tech’ and ‘app design’ “, said Lizanne Pando, president of St. Hubert.
Dawn Mullen from MAI Architects said, “This state-of-the-art space will create a setting with the right resources for St. Hubert students to think big and challenge their students’ imaginations to follow their dreams. It was fun to commemorate this evening with breaking through the walls.”
This initiative was born out of the Strategic Planning for St. Hubert’s since the summer of 2017, and the Arts Academy will get the space it has been seeking.
“It is programs like this one, with the guiding leadership of President Pando and staff, that demonstrates to the community that St. Hubert High School is a ‘rising sun.’ Their enrollment remains strong while many donor grants are now also coming to fruition. In particular, the Commonwealth $2 million RACP grant as well as related DCED funding will support the new Connelly Arts and Design Center and new front courtyard. Sen. Dillon, Rep. Gallagher and myself are proud to support and advance these state monies,” said Councilman Mike Driscoll.
The new Connelly Arts and Design Center is expected to be ready in September 2023. ••
