Man arrested in Somerton “car meet” assault

Aki J. Newman, 21, from New Castle, Delaware, was arrested Friday afternoon by U.S. Marshals.

Newman was wanted for his involvement in the assault of an unidentified male that occurred on Sunday, June 4, at 1 a.m., on the 14000 block of Bustleton Ave. (at Philmont Avenue) during a “car meet.”

The assault took place as a large crowd watched cars recklessly doing “doughnuts” and “drifting” in the middle of the intersection. ••
