Widener University congratulates students named to the spring 2023 president’s list, which recognizes students who earned a grade point average of 4.0 in two consecutive semesters of full-time coursework. Local students were Jessica Mereshensky, Emily Pitcherello and Emma Schultz. ••

Montclair State University congratulates Sommer Mustafa on being named to the spring 2023 dean’s list. Mustafa is a family science and human development major. Mustafa was among nearly 6,000 Red Hawks named to the list. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher. ••

Kutztown University welcomes the newest members of the Golden Bear family, including both incoming freshmen and transfer students, for the upcoming 2023 fall semester. Local new students are Madison Foerst, Michael Anderson, Mekhi Jefferson, Corinne Kelly, Carly Walsh, Cheyenne Wilkus, Aileen Quiroz, Ryan Dwyer, Destiny Bey, Bret Collins, Meghan Hess, Farhan Karim, Kayla Marquez, Yorielis Ortiz, Tearran Peete, Nathaniel Tracey, Kelvin Lima, Aidan Malkowski, Shaheem Stewart, Fredderick Melendez, Chelsea Ritter, Isiah Thomas, Erin Smith, Madison Melot, Tanaia Hudson, Autumn Gavin, Josiah Jeudy, Connor McDowell, Elijah Ollison and Richard Paczewski. ••

More than 700 students were named to Alvernia University’s dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester, including Erik Goodwin, Robert Lawlor (criminal justice), Sara Mukongo (business management), Navil Perez Lantigua (biochemistry) and Rawan Qays (healthcare administration). To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits. ••

Madison McLaverty was among the 596 students who earned dean’s list honors for the spring 2023 semester at Mount St. Mary’s University (Maryland). Students who maintain a 3.4 grade point average or higher are eligible for the honor. ••

Commonwealth University congratulates the spring 2023 graduates on receiving their academic degrees. The following local students were among those who received their degrees: Alyssa Bergmark, Sevonne Brockington, Amanda Gaffney (cum laude), Shayne Glenn, Thomas Kaikai, Christina McNeely, Mark Mierzejewski, Kaitlyn Petner, Caitlin Przepiorka (magna cum laude), Kevin Roque (summa cum laude), Gianna Rossi, Zahed Shaikh, Paola Terreforte (summa cum laude), Kacie Tucci, Amaya Vazquez-Natale, Sarah Wertz (cum laude) and Taylor Wexler (cum laude). ••

There were 120 Kutztown student-athletes recognized by the Division II Athletic Directors Association with 2022-23 Academic Achievement Awards.

For student-athletes to qualify for the award, they must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have completed a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work at a two-year and/or four-year institution and also been an active member of an intercollegiate team during the last academic year. Local honorees were Casey Remolde, a guard/forward on the basketball team and a St. Basil graduate; Shannon Remolde, a guard on the basketball team and a St. Basil graduate; and Anastasia Fratanduono, a member of the cross country and track teams and a graduate of Archbishop Ryan. ••
