DVR Cabinetry last week celebrated its grand opening at 4901 Cottman Ave.

Company founder and CEO Johnny Nguyen, a native of Vietnam, welcomed City Councilmen Mike Driscoll and Kenyatta Johnson; Councilwoman Sharon Vaughn; Council candidate Nina Ahmad; state Sen. Sharif Street; Capt. Marques Newsome, commander of the 15th Police District; Capts. Jim Kimrey and Frank Palumbo, former commanders of the 2nd Police District who now command the 5th district and civil affairs, respectively; and John Sabatina, Democratic candidate for register of wills.

DVR employs nearly 200 craftsmen, laborers and administrative staff. ••
