Holiday meals for families of fallen officers

Jimmy Binns, president and CEO of Holiday Meals for Heroes, last week welcomed families of local police officers who are severely disabled or died in the line of duty to a breakfast at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting.

The families also took home Thanksgiving dinner donations.

The event was sponsored by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 98. The program furnishes breakfast and dinner meals to area families of fallen police officers at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

Families of local fallen officers who were in attendance included Chuck Cassidy, Isabel Nazario, Timothy Simpson, John Pawlowski, James O’Connor, Walter DeWitt, Patrick McDonald and Stephen Liczbinski.

Highway Patrol Officer Andy Chan, who was severely injured in an accident as he headed to work on Rhawn Street in 2019, was at the breakfast.

The Christmas breakfast will take place on Dec. 22, with Santa Claus making an appearance. ••
