Vince Schiavone, CEO of Caring for Friends, last week welcomed some local elected officials and their staffs for pre-Thanksgiving meal preparation.

On hand at Caring for Friends, 12271 Townsend Road, were state Reps. Joe Hohenstein, Pat Gallagher, Anthony Bellmon and Danilo Burgos, state Sen. Jimmy Dillon and City Councilman Mike Driscoll.

The volunteers pulled pre-cooked turkey meat from the bone and scooped stuffing into trays, with a helping of gravy. Some 94 trays, each with enough turkey and stuffing to feed four, were sealed and labeled before being delivered.

In addition, they picked enough leftover turkey to go with many more meal trays. ••
