Playground upgrades at Mullin

Orlando Rendon (left) and Mike Driscoll are joined by four young people who were playing basketball.

City Department of Parks and Recreation Commissioner Orlando Rendon joined Councilman Mike Driscoll on Monday to cut the ribbon on a new playground, safety surfacing and modern safety upgrades at Sen. William Vincent Mullin Playground, 4301 Princeton Ave.

The $354,000 project consists of two new play structures, two new swing sets, a play mound and a replacement of the safety surface.

Driscoll thanked Mayor Jim Kenney for his commitment to upgrading parks and recreation centers. He called Mullin a “gem,” adding that the cushiony safety surface is a lot better than the old concrete kind. ••
